SPECIAL measures to protect employees who report colleagues they suspect are involved in child abuse have been adopted by Lancashire County Council - after scandals in children's homes across the country.
But while everything must be done to protect children against this sort of evil, is it not a sad reflection on our society when it is necessary that those speaking out against it need protection for them to dare to?
Grimly, we must accept the necessity of these measures, yet, paradoxically, rue the fact that they may be needed.
