FIRST match of the Bury Society's junior section took place on the Island Lodge on Wednesday evening in good weather. The event produced some excellent weights, led by Boyden Krupnyckyj jnr with a nice net of skimmer bream 6-8-0, closely followed in second place by Danny Moore with 6-2-0. In third place, Ian Gough with 3-9-0, while in fourth place the youngest competitor, seven-year-old Liam Walmsley featured perch in his catch of 2-9-0. Fifth place fell to Mark Frost 1-11-0, sixth place to Dean Crosswaite 0-12-0 and seventh place to Dean Crosswaite 0-9-8. All the competitors received prizes and the winner chose a whip.   more...
