A CELEBRATION of artwork and words from children from nine Leigh schools is to be unveiled in a town centre library.
The arts and writing festival, Walk Awhile in My Shoes, will be opened by the Mayor of Wigan Cllr Wilf Brogan in the Derby Rooms at Leigh Library on Monday.
For the past three years the festival has become a centrepiece of excellence for youngsters, but this year is the final time the annual festival will be held.
Artists such as Bryan Edmondson, who has been involved in all three festivals, Matt Roby, Gaye Chorlton and Catrin Mostyn Jones have helped children create inspired artwork during the last three months.
Poet Lemn Sissay stimulated others in literacy; Jen Hatton used dance to put across her vibrant message while actress Clare McGlinn used drama.
