JOHN Hegley is appearing in Uncut Confetti, his new show, at the Contact Theatre, Manchester, this Friday and Saturday, February 4 and 5.

Hegley, the bespectacled dog-loving poetic type, is widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic artists.

He is a regular sell-out at The Edinburgh Festival. He has also performed at the Comedy Festivals of Melbourne, Montreal & Aspen Colorado and at a Colombian womenís prison.

He recently played Vernon J Hines in Simon Callow's The Pajama Game. He is responsible for 9 books of poetry / prose / lyrics / drawings "and one mug."

Uncut Confetti is a new show of celebratory pieces consisting of "poetry, puppetry, comedy, camaraderie, tragedy, travesty and song. And tap-root dancing. A cascade of affirmation."

"This is the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe show with bonus bits," he said. "Romance, Rhymance and the day it all went bonkers in a Luton bungalow."
