THE brother of a stab victim urged mourners at his funeral to cherish every day they spent with their loved ones.
Speaking at Accrington Crematorium yesterday Sean Embley, 32, said: "If you have a relative that you haven't seen for some time, go and see them, tell them you love them.
"Tell them as often as you can because you might not get the chance again.
"Cherish every moment you spend with them."
Ken Embley, of Charter Street, Accrington, was found with stab wounds at a house in Royds Street, earlier this month and was taken by ambulance to Blackburn Royal Infirmary where he later died.
A 16-year-old girl is due to appear before Hyndburn Magistrates later today charged with murder.
At the humanist, non-religious funeral, Edward Joyce, from the British Humanist Association, described the 34-year-old as a generous, thoughtful and outgoing man who valued his relationships over material possessions.
He said: "He was direct, straightforward and plain spoken ñ what you saw was what you got.
"He had a good sense of humour and laughter always came easily to him."
Mr Joyce said Mr Embley's life had been cruelly cut short. He said: "Ken will live on in the family circle through the influence he had on their lives."
Ken was also a Manchester United fan and many mourners wore the team's strip or its colours, including his mum, Marion, 54, and sister, Sharon Blakelidge, 33.
His coffin was draped with a Manchester United flag.
Marion read out a poem and said: "To me and his dad he was and will always be our little lad."
He also leaves dad Jimmy, brother-in-law Chris Blakelidge, and nephews Michael, Luke and Curtis.
