BINGO players can be a superstitious lot with 50 per cent of them carrying a lucky charm or performing a lucky ritual before they play.
And bosses at the Walkden's Buckingham Bingo say their players are among the most superstitious of all.
Now they have have compiled a list of the top superstitions among their bingo fans.
Most players have a special seat that they sit in every week - and most players have a lucky dabber (marker pen), with blue being the most popular colour.
But it is unlucky to drop a dabber and pick it up - a superstition that leads many players to change their dabber for a new one. Many players have lucky bingo numbers, with No 7 the favourite. No 13 remains the most unlucky.
It is apparently unlucky to leave money on the table, as it implies the player has won too much. And some players have lucky days and times to play bingo
Lucky charms, such as photos of family, a rabbit's foot, cuddly toys, gems, horseshoes or four-leaf clovers, are popular.
Bingo fans also have lucky clothes and shoes and ways of getting dressed.
Others ask the bingo caller to touch their tickets, request books from the top or bottom of the pile and go along with a lucky bingo buddy.
Andrew Tattershall, manager at Buckingham Bingo, said: "Bingo does seem to be a particularly superstitious game, probably due to the use of numbers which have always carried lucky connotations."
