Man barred from every pub in town

From the Bury Times, first published Thursday 29th Jun 2006.

A MAN has been banned from every pub and club in the town centre for the next three years Kris Odling, of Darlington Close, Woolfold, has also been banned from being drunk in the town centre as part of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) imposed at Bury Magistrates Court last week.

The ASBO was made by the court for an assault on a member of the public outside the Liquid Lounge in Bury in December. Odling then verbally abused a police officer who intervened, and assaulted the PC when arrested.

Odling (23) was also given a six- month suspended sentence, ordered to pay compensation, and made subject of a home curfew for four months.

Bury Police will distribute his details to all pubs and clubs in Bury town centre. Any breach of the ASBO could result in a prison sentence of up to five years.

PC Simon Walton, Bury Police's ASBO Officer said: "Odling's ASBO sends a very clear message: if you come to Bury town centre for a night out, and you can't handle your drink, you may find yourself barred from all the pubs in the town for a considerable period of time."
